Hair transplantation involves excising a "donor
area" from the back of the scalp and then relocating micro-grafts
from this donor area into the patient's thinning or bald region. Tiny
holes are made in the bald region with carbon steel instruments and the
micro-grafts are manually placed into these openings. Each micro-graft
contains one or two hair follicles; approximately 700 grafts are implanted
per hair grafting session. It may take several sessions to achieve the
amount of thickness you desire. In addition, you must have areas of thick
hair in order to have hair grafting. Individuals without hair are not
candidates for this procedure.
