Dr. Smythe Rich is a Columbia native, returning after more than ten years of post graduate training to obtain board certification in two areas of head and neck surgery. He has lectured throughout the United States on topics pertaining to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is on the clinical faculty of the Department of Surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He returned to Columbia and became director of The Center of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1990. Dr. Rich participates in Medical Missions trips, most recently to Turkey. He supports the Boy Scouts through the Indian Waters Council.
